These instructions cover Kit Business for iOS and Android (africa.kit.analytics) and SalesLive for macOS (africa.kit.saleslive).
1. Before requesting deletion
- Export reports, invoices, tax records, documents, and other information the business must keep.
- Complete or reconcile pending wallet, payment, payout, billing, EFRIS, or synchronisation activity before requesting deletion.
- Allow offline changes on each device to synchronise, or preserve anything that has not reached the server.
- Tell other authorised administrators because all workspace users lose access after processing.
2. Delete an individual user profile
A user who does not own the workspace can permanently delete their individual Kit user profile in Kit Business or SalesLive. This action is processed immediately after confirmation and does not have a seven-day cancellation period.
In SalesLive on macOS
- Sign in to the native Kit account in SalesLive.
- Open the profile menu in the upper-right corner and choose Delete account.
- Confirm your identity again with the requested Kit password, Google account, or Apple account.
- Review the consequences and type the exact server-provided confirmation phrase.
In the Kit Business mobile app
- Sign in to the Kit Business mobile app.
- Open Settings, then Security & sessions.
- Open Account deletion and choose the individual account-deletion option.
- Review the consequences and type the exact confirmation phrase Delete my account.
Kit revokes the user's sessions and registered devices, removes the local Apple or Google identity link, and erases or anonymises personal profile and support data that does not need to remain. If Apple was linked, Kit first asks Apple to revoke the authorisation grant. Kit does not retain a Google refresh token for this mobile sign-in flow.
The user's numeric internal key and shared business, transaction, accounting, audit, security, or history records may remain where needed to preserve the business's books and record integrity. Kit retains a limited deletion receipt. Store purchaser linkage is detached, while protected financial, transaction, replay-prevention, or entitlement evidence may remain bound to the business where required.
Deleting an individual profile does not delete the workspace or records owned by the business. A business owner's account-deletion path is the business-wide process below because an active workspace cannot be left without its registered owner. That process deletes the owner's personal Kit account together with the business.
3. Request business-wide deletion
In SalesLive on macOS
- Sign in to the native Kit account for the workspace.
- Open the profile menu in the upper-right corner and choose Delete account.
- Confirm your identity again, review the account-and-business scope, optionally enter a reason, and type the exact confirmation phrase shown.
SalesLive submits the same server-controlled business-wide request only for the registered owner. It displays the scheduled deletion date and explains how to cancel from the email sent by Kit.
In the Kit Business mobile app
- Sign in to the production workspace.
- Open Settings, then Security & sessions.
- Find Account deletion and choose Delete account and business.
- Review the warning, optionally enter a reason, and type the exact confirmation phrase shown.
The business-wide control is available only to the registered business owner. It is also that owner's in-app personal account-deletion path. Submitting creates a request for the owner's account, every other workspace account, and the business; it does not erase records immediately.
In the Kit web application
- Sign in at pos.kit.africa and select the correct workspace.
- Open the business backup or data settings page.
- Under Delete business data, review the warning and request deletion.
If you cannot sign in
Email info@kit.africa from the address associated with the account. Include “Kit Business account deletion request”, the business name, your role, and a safe contact number.
Kit must verify identity and authority before acting. Do not email a password, one-time code, recovery code, payment PIN, or an unrequested identity document.
Email a request4. The business-wide seven-day process
- Request recorded. Kit records the authenticated request and schedules it; data is not erased at submission.
- Seven-day cancellation period. Kit emails the scheduled date and a unique cancellation link to registered workspace users.
- Cancellation. An authorised recipient can use that link before processing. A cancelled request does not delete the workspace.
- Processing. If the request is not cancelled, the scheduled process removes the owner's account, every other workspace user account, the active workspace, and its scoped database records after the waiting period.
This seven-day period applies only to business-wide deletion. Individual non-owner profile deletion is immediate after confirmation.
Contact Kit promptly if ownership is disputed, required information is missing, or a transaction or legal matter must be resolved before the scheduled date.
5. What business-wide deletion covers
The business-wide request covers the active Kit workspace and database records scoped to it, which can include:
- business profile, settings, locations, users, roles, permissions, registered devices, and workspace access;
- customers, suppliers, employees, CRM data, products, stock, and pricing;
- sales, invoices, quotations, purchases, expenses, payments, accounting, payroll, projects, timesheets, budgets, and reports; and
- workspace-scoped wallet, document, synchronisation, search, and integration records.
Deletion cannot recall an invoice, message, report, or exported file that an authorised user already sent or saved outside Kit. It also cannot delete records independently controlled by a bank, mobile network, payment or KYC provider, biller, URA/EFRIS, Google, or another recipient.
6. What may remain
Kit does not promise that every copy disappears at the same instant as the active workspace:
- Associated files and protected backups may remain after database deletion until separate file cleanup or routine backup rotation removes them. They are not available through the deleted workspace.
- Legal and compliance records may be restricted and retained where required for tax, accounting, KYC/AML, payments, fraud prevention, security, disputes, court orders, regulators, or legal claims. They are deleted or anonymised when the applicable obligation or hold ends.
- Shared business and audit history may retain an internal numeric user reference or an anonymised actor so transactions, accounting records, access events, and audit trails remain accurate.
- Store and deletion evidence may include a limited deletion receipt and protected app-store financial, transaction, replay-prevention, or entitlement records retained for the business, security, legal obligations, or disputes. The deleted user is detached from purchaser linkage.
- Provider-controlled records remain subject to the provider’s law and privacy notice. Contact that provider where a separate deletion right applies.
- Data on a user’s device is under the device holder’s control. On Android, clear Kit Business storage or uninstall the app after handling unsynchronised work. On iOS and macOS, also review device and iCloud backups; Keychain-protected items may follow Apple’s lifecycle and can persist after uninstall. Clear SalesLive local data where necessary. Server access is removed when the workspace is processed.
Retention depends on the record and applicable law. After verifying authority, Kit can explain the category and reason relevant to a particular request.
7. Cancel an Apple or Google subscription separately
- Apple: manage App Store subscriptions or request eligible billing support through Report a Problem.
- Google: manage Google Play subscriptions or follow Google Play's refund guidance.
Account deletion does not delete the Apple ID or Google Account used for sign-in. Use the provider's own controls for a separate provider-account or provider-data request.
See the Kit Business Mobile Terms and Store Billing Notice for the terms that apply to native purchases.
